A 3-part movement-based professional training for early childhood educators, educational support, subject and classroom teachers exploring how early infant movement, primitive reflexes, and the nervous system shape lifelong learning, sensory integration, and regulation.

Presenter / Instructor Bio

Stephanie Johnson is a Somatic Psychotherapist, Waldorf parent and independent educator and specialist in sensory integration and nervous system development. She is affiliated with the Association for Healing Education (AHE), having served as guest faculty for the past 2 cycles of AHE. Her work focuses on helping teachers and practitioners understand the body-based origins of sensory, emotional, and classroom learning challenges. Stephanie brings 30+ years experience  working with children and families as a mover, educator and therapist and is known for her clarity, warmth and humor.

So often, when children struggle in the classroom with attention, posture, or emotional regulation, they cannot simply think or talk their way out of it—the missing piece is anchored in the body and physical movement patterns of early childhood.

Baby Bare Professional Training is an embodied, movement-based program designed to help educators, therapists and practitioners understand how early infant movement wires the nervous system for lifelong learning and well-being.

Note: While Stephanie Johnson is affiliated with the Association for Healing Education (AHE) and served as guest faculty for the past 2 cycles of AHE, this 2027 Minnesota cohort is being offered as an independent training.

What You Will Learn:

• Nervous System Foundations: How the brain “wires up” through early movement and sensory experiences during infancy.

• Primitive Reflexes: How unintegrated reflexes show up as sensory, behavioral, and learning challenges—and how to support their integration.

• Core Movement Patterns: The six  developmental movement patterns that underlie the ability to engage with curriculum via  coordination, spatial orientation, and self-regulation.

• Classroom Insights: A deeper, actionable framework for what you are seeing in the classroom with the rising number of children who need emotional, physical and sensory support.

• Application: In addition to deepening your understanding of what you are observing in the children you serve,  you will leave each weekend with tools and activities to use Monday.
