Opening Statement
M膩lamalama Waldorf School is seeking a warm, dependable, and creative Summer Program Leader to guide our Grades Summer Program for children ages 7鈥13.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working closely with children in a mixed-age setting and can provide calm leadership, healthy rhythm, creativity, and strong supervision throughout the summer.
Program Dates: June 15 鈥 July 31, 2026
Schedule: Monday鈥揟hursday: 7:30 AM 鈥 3:00 PM | Friday: 7:30 AM 鈥 1:00 PM
Compensation: $20/hour

M膩lamalama Waldorf School is an independent Waldorf school located in Kea驶au on Hawai驶i Island, serving children from early childhood through grade 8. Our program emphasizes imagination, creativity, connection to nature, artistic expression, and healthy child development within a nurturing community environment.
Essential Job Duties
鈥 Lead and supervise a mixed-age group of up to 20 children ages 7鈥13
鈥 Plan and lead games, crafts, storytelling, outdoor activities, and nature-based experiences
鈥 Maintain a healthy daily rhythm and safe environment
鈥 Communicate professionally with families and administration
鈥 Maintain attendance records and basic organization
鈥 Participate in orientation and required training
Applicants must minimally meet DHS BAS qualifications for a Program Leader.
Waldorf teaching experience or training preferred, but not required.
Qualifications
Applicants must minimally meet DHS BAS qualifications for a Program Leader through one of the following:
鈥 2 years of college education and 6 months experience working with school-aged children
鈥 Child Development Associate (CDA) and 6 months experience working with school-aged children
鈥 High school diploma and 9 months experience working with school-aged children
Additional qualifications include experience leading groups of children independently, strong communication and organizational skills, and the ability to maintain calm, steady leadership in an active environment. CPR/First Aid certification is preferred. Applicants must be able to pass required background clearances and must have United States work authorization. Waldorf teaching experience or training is preferred, but not required.

Approximately 35鈥36 hours per week
